Over 5 Acres In Omar Gulistan Declared State Property: Moj

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Nearly 5.5 acres of land in Omar Gulistan Township in the capital Kabul has been declared state property, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) said on Sunday.

In a statement, the ministry said the Special Court for Addressing Cases of Usurped State Lands in the Central Zone made the decision after examining documents and records related to the land in the 3rd Macroryan area of the 9th police district of the capital and ruled that it belonged to the state.

It said the Commission for the Prevention of Land Grabbing had earlier investigated the case. Under Article 17 of the Law on the Prevention and Restitution of Grabbed Lands, the case was formally referred to the special court.

According to the ministry, the court reached its decision after carefully reviewing ownership documents, property records and information obtained from relevant authorities.

As no evidence was found showing the land had been legally purchased from the government, it was declared state-owned.

MoJ said the process of reviewing, verifying and reclaiming state land continues nationwide, with the land-grab prevention commission, provincial technical teams and relevant special courts deciding cases after thorough examination of documents.
