Indian Education Board CBSE Postpones March 2 Class 10 And 12 Exams In Middle East

Doha, Qatar: The Central Board of Secondary Education clarified in a circular that the class 10 and class 12 board exams scheduled for March 2, 2026, in the Middle East have been postponed.

The board stated that exams in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been postponed, with the new dates to be announced at a later time. Meanwhile, it added that the board will review the situation on March 3 and take appropriate decisions with regards to the examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards.

In an earlier circular it also clarified that a viral notice announcing cancellation of select board examinations due to regional tension in the Middle East were fake.

The fake circular stated that remaining class 10 and class 12 board exams were cancelled in the Middle East region and marks shall be awarded on a composite evaluation criteria.

Qatar and the neighbouring gulf region has intercepted several waves of missiles coming from Islamic Republic of Iran since Saturday, February 28, 2026. As a precautionary measure, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced a shift to distance learning for schools and universities until further notice.

This announcement created uncertainty among parents and students whose board exams are underway, with Class 10 exams expected to conclude by March 10 and Class 12 exams by April 10.
