Baghdad Airport Temporarily Closes for Technical Repairs
(MENAFN) Iraq’s Transport Ministry announced on Wednesday that Baghdad International Airport has been temporarily closed due to a technical fault.
A ministry spokesperson told the state news agency that specialized technical teams have begun diagnosing and repairing the issue. The airport is expected to resume flight operations within a few hours, once repairs are completed and final technical inspections are conducted.
The spokesperson also dismissed circulating social media claims linking the closure to local or international security concerns, emphasizing that the temporary shutdown is purely due to technical reasons.
