Baghdad Airport Temporarily Shuts Down Over Technical Glitch
(MENAFN) Iraq’s Transport Ministry announced Wednesday that Baghdad International Airport has been temporarily shut down due to a technical malfunction, according to reports.
A ministry spokesperson told the state news agency that specialized technical teams are currently conducting diagnostic and repair work.
He added that “once repairs are completed and final technical inspections are carried out, the airport is expected to resume flight operations within the next few hours.”
The spokesperson also dismissed social media claims suggesting that the closure was linked to local or international security concerns.
