Trump Appoints VP to Lead ‘War on Fraud’ in Democratic States

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Vice President JD Vance will oversee what he termed a “war on fraud” targeting states governed by Democrats, claiming widespread corruption but providing no evidence to back up the allegations.

During his State of the Union address, Trump singled out members of Minnesota’s Somali American community, labeling them as “pirates” allegedly involved in a massive fraud operation he said has cost the country $19 billion.

It was not clear how he arrived at that number, though Trump stated, “we have all the information.”

He continued, “And in actuality, the number is much higher than that. And California, Massachusetts, Maine and many other states are even worse,” referring to Democratic-led states.

“This is the kind of corruption that shreds the fabric of a nation, and we are working on it like you wouldn't believe. So tonight, although it started four months ago, I am officially announcing the war on fraud to be led by our great Vice President JD Vance,” Trump added.

Reports indicate that the White House has not yet released further details regarding the scope or methods of the initiative.
