US Expresses Gratitude to Kosovo’s Role in Gaza Stabilization Efforts
(MENAFN) US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday expressed gratitude to Vjosa Osmani Sadriu and the people of Kosovo for their support of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in the Gaza Strip.
Following a meeting with President Osmani, Rubio acknowledged Kosovo’s commitment to peace and regional stability as a founding member of the Board of Peace. “I also thanked President Osmani for her contributions to the International Stabilization Force in Gaza,” he wrote on the social media platform X.
The ISF, recently established to maintain security in Gaza, received troop commitments from five countries, according to Maj. Gen. Jasper Jeffers, its commander. At the Board of Peace’s inaugural meeting in Washington, DC, Jeffers confirmed that Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania would provide personnel, while Egypt and Jordan would contribute by training local police forces.
