Canada's Parliament Lit Up In Blue And Yellow As Sign Of Solidarity With Ukraine
“On the eve of the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale military invasion, Canada's Parliament and the Office of the Prime Minister are illuminated in the national colours of Ukraine – not merely as a symbol, but as a clear expression of unwavering support,” the post reads.
The Embassy added that from the very first days of the Russian invasion, Canada“has been a true friend and a reliable partner.”
“Canadians from coast to coast to coast have demonstrated remarkable solidarity – through humanitarian support, military assistance, welcoming displaced Ukrainians, and through the unwavering voice of the Canadian civil society,” the statement said.
It is worth noting that, under long-standing practice, lighting the Canadian Parliament building is not normally used to commemorate events. However, exceptions have been made for Ukraine on several occasions.
