Former Prince Andrew Detained on Misconduct Suspicion
(MENAFN) Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the disgraced former British prince and younger brother of King Charles III, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of misconduct in public office, multiple British media outlets reported.
Thames Valley Police confirmed in an official statement that officers had detained a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office, without initially naming the individual. Multiple outlets subsequently identified the suspect as Mountbatten-Windsor.
Authorities said searches are actively underway at properties in Berkshire and Norfolk, including locations in the vicinity of the Sandringham Estate, where Mountbatten-Windsor is reported to have been residing. The former royal remains in police custody, officers confirmed.
