Up to Ten Skiers Goes Missing in California Avalanche
(MENAFN) Up to 10 skiers went missing after an avalanche hit a backcountry slope in California’s Sierra Nevada on Tuesday, officials reported.
At least six skiers survived and remained at the scene, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.
The group, including four guides and 12 clients, was in the Castle Peak area near Truckee when the avalanche occurred.
Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities work to locate the missing individuals.
