Laura Neary
- Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Waterloo
Laura Neary is a postdoctoral researcher specializing in freshwater hydrology, northern ecosystems and environmental monitoring. Her research examines how climate change and industrial development are reshaping shallow lake systems in water-rich landscapes across northern Canada. She uses tools such as water-level monitoring, isotope tracers, and geospatial analysis to understand how these systems function and respond to change. Laura completed her PhD at the University of Waterloo, where she studied hydrological change across two internationally protected Ramsar Wetlands: the Peace-Athabasca Delta and the Whooping Crane Summer Range.
