- PhD Student, McMaster University
Maha Khawaja is a PhD student in Health and Society at McMaster University. Her work brings sex and relationship research into conversation with life after cancer-particularly the relational and sexual afterlives of treatments such as radiation therapy-and other life-altering experiences. Drawing on feminist, critical, and mixed-methods approaches, her research examines how intimacy, desire, and sexual well-being are reshaped in these contexts, especially for women and marginalized communities. With a background in medical sciences and gender, sexuality, and women's studies, her work bridges theory, empirical research, and public-facing scholarship.
