Four Indian Students Injured In 'Unfortunate' Attack In Russia


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Indian embassy in Russia on Saturday said that four Indian students were injured in an "unfortunate incident of attack".

The incident occurred in Ufa, the authority said, adding that officials were on their way to provide necessary assistance.

It said, "An unfortunate incident of attack has occurred in Ufa. Several persons including four Indian students have been injured. The Embassy is in touch with the authorities and the officials from the Consulate in Kazan are on their way to Ufa to provide assistance to the injured students."

The embassy's post was published hours after local media reported a stabbing incident at a sports hall in a foreign students' hostel at a university in Russia's Bashkortostan Republic. Reports said two police officers were injured.

Preliminary reports said a teenager armed with a knife entered the State Medical University in Ufa and stabbed several students, according to PTI.
