OIC Condemns Explosion Targeting Mosque In Islamabad
Jeddah: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the explosion that targeted a mosque in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, yesterday, Friday, resulting in several casualties and injuries among innocent civilians.
In a statement, the Secretariat reaffirmed its categorical rejection of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, particularly attacks on places of worship and acts that terrorize civilians, stressing its firm stance in condemning such criminal acts that violate human values and religious principles.
The General Secretariat offered its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the government and people of Pakistan, and to the families of the victims, expressing its wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The organization also renewed its full solidarity with Pakistan in its efforts to combat terrorism and enhance its security and stability.
Pakistani police reported that at least 31 people were killed in the suicide attack on the mosque in Islamabad during Friday prayers.
