US Proposes Energy Truce In Abu Dhabi Again, Russia Gives No Response
“The US has proposed that both sides once again support the US president's initiative to de-escalate the energy situation. Ukraine has confirmed its support, but Russia has not yet responded,” Zelensky said.
He noted that the Russians usually respond to such initiatives after returning to Russia.
As reported by Ukrinform, last Thursday, US President Donald Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had allegedly agreed not to shell Ukrainian cities for a week during extreme cold weather. However, on the night of February 3, the enemy launched the most powerful strike on Ukraine's energy sector since the beginning of 2026, for which the Russian invaders used more than 70 missiles and 450 combat drones
Today, Russia again carried out a massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Russian strikes damaged substations and 750 kV and 330 kV power lines which are the backbone of Ukraine's power grid, as well as the Burshtyn and Dobrotvir thermal power plants.
