BIST 100 Slips Over Two Percent


(MENAFN) Turkey's primary stock index concluded Thursday at 13,589.14 points, reflecting a decline of 2.17% compared to the previous day.

Opening the session at 13,867.12 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell by 302.07 points from Wednesday's settlement. The benchmark reached a daily high of 13,977.85, while its lowest level during trading was 13,589.14.

The total market capitalization of BIST 100 was approximately 13.49 trillion Turkish liras ($310.78 billion), with a transaction volume of 192 billion liras ($4.41 billion).

Out of the stocks listed in the index, 19 gained in value, whereas 80 saw declines compared to the previous closing figures.

In commodities, gold was priced at $4,875 per ounce, while Brent crude oil traded at $77.14 per barrel as of 7.50 pm local time (1750GMT).

Regarding foreign exchange, the US dollar/Turkish lira rate stood at 43.5390, the euro/Turkish lira at 51.4850, and the British pound exchanged at 59.1480 liras.
