New Mass Grave Get Discovered in Damascus

(MENAFN) Syrian authorities announced on Wednesday the discovery of a new mass grave in the capital, Damascus, believed to contain victims of killings carried out by the former regime of Bashar al-Assad in the Tadamon neighborhood.

According to Syrian state television Alikhbaria, the remains were found near Daaboul Street in Tadamon. Local residents told the channel that the site is part of a larger network of mass graves where victims of regime-led massacres were secretly buried.

Syrian Civil Defense teams are currently working to locate and identify the remains, while internal security forces have established a cordon around the area to ensure safety and allow forensic investigations.

Since the fall of the Baathist regime, multiple mass graves have been uncovered across Syria, revealing the scale of violations and atrocities committed under Assad’s rule.
