Turkish, Egyptian First Ladies Meet


(MENAFN) Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan met her Egyptian counterpart Entissar Amer on Wednesday in Cairo, coinciding with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s formal visit to Egypt.

“We held a productive meeting on issues of social solidarity that closely concern humanity as a whole,” Erdogan stated on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

In addition to their meeting, the first ladies toured the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids of Giza.

“I hope that this valuable visit will contribute to the development of relations between our countries in all fields,” she emphasized.

On the same day, President Erdogan was welcomed in Cairo by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Accompanying Erdogan on his trip are several senior Turkish officials, including prominent Cabinet ministers.

Throughout the visit, multiple agreements covering various sectors have been finalized by the relevant institutions and ministries of both nations.
