Kosovo’s Ambassador Partakes in International Photo Awards Voting
(MENAFN) Kosovo’s ambassador to Ankara, Agon Vrenezi, took part on Tuesday in voting for an annual international photo competition that highlights powerful images capturing defining moments of 2025.
The contest, supported by several sponsors, brought together 112 photographs taken by professional photojournalists and organized into six categories reflecting major events and scenes from Türkiye and across the globe.
Sharing his impressions, the ambassador said the selected images carried strong emotional weight and meaningful messages.
“I have been participating in this photo voting for two years. As always, the photographs are incredible,” he said.
In a special category focused on Gaza and hunger, Vrenezi cast his vote for an image titled Food Crisis Deepens in the Gaza Strip. Explaining his choice, he said: “I chose a photo depicting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, a situation everyone is aware of."
He added that Kosovo has made efforts to ease the situation by contributing humanitarian assistance alongside the Turkish Red Crescent, but emphasized that living conditions for civilians in the area remain extremely harsh.
A known basketball enthusiast, Vrenezi said his sports-related selection was influenced by the exceptional performance of national player Alperen Sengun.
For other categories, he selected images across portrait, news, sports, nature and environment, and daily life themes, choosing photographs that he felt best reflected the spirit and significance of the moments they captured.
