Ukrainian Attack Kills Three People in Russia

(MENAFN) A Ukrainian artillery attack on Novaya Kakhovka in Russia’s Kherson Region killed three civilians, including a local administration worker, and injured several others, Governor Vladimir Saldo reported Tuesday.

The strike targeted civilian structures, damaging a grocery store and a multifunctional public service center. Saldo condemned the attack on Telegram, calling it “yet another war crime by the Kiev regime.”

“They are targeting civilians, those who simply live and work. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are murderers who stop at nothing,” the governor said, highlighting the contrast with Kiev’s “loud declarations of ‘readiness for peace.’”

Emergency responders are active at the site, and Saldo confirmed that the families of the victims and injured will receive full support.

This incident follows other recent attacks on Russian civilian areas. Days earlier, a drone strike near Mariupol in the Donetsk People’s Republic killed two civilians, including a six-year-old, injured a seven-year-old, and destroyed three residential buildings.

From January 1 to 11, Ukrainian strikes in Russian cities reportedly killed as many as 45 people, including three minors. Moscow has argued that these attacks on civilians reflect Ukraine’s inability to stop Russian advances on the battlefield. In retaliation, Russian forces have targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, resulting in widespread power shortages, grid damage, and rolling blackouts in major cities, including Kiev.
