Gaza Bleeds: Israeli Strike Kills Palestinian Amid Fragile Ceasefire
(MENAFN) A Palestinian was killed and two others wounded Sunday morning when Israeli forces struck a civilian gathering in the Wadi Gaza area of central Gaza Strip, marking the latest in Tel Aviv's daily breaches of the ceasefire agreement enacted since October 10, 2025.
The assault follows a two-day deadly escalation during which Israel killed 37 Palestinians in strikes targeting shelters, tents housing displaced individuals, a police center, and residential apartments.
A medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza confirmed to Anadolu that one Palestinian was killed and two others were wounded in the Israeli strike in the Wadi Gaza area.
Eyewitnesses reported to media that an Israeli drone fired at least one missile at a civilian gathering north of Wadi Gaza. The targeted zone had been previously evacuated by the Israeli army under ceasefire terms.
In a separate incident, witnesses stated the Israeli army conducted demolition operations within areas under its deployment and control northeast of Gaza City in accordance with the agreement, accompanied by heavy gunfire from military vehicles and cranes.
Israeli military vehicles also discharged fire west of Rafah city and east of the Bureij refugee camp in army-controlled zones, while Israeli naval forces fired toward the sea off the northern Gaza coast.
According to Gaza's Health Ministry, the Israeli army has killed approximately 509 Palestinians and wounded 1,405 others since October 11, 2025.
The agreement halted a two-year Israeli war that killed nearly 71,800 Palestinians and wounded more than 171,400. The offensive destroyed roughly 90% of civilian infrastructure in Gaza, with UN estimates placing reconstruction costs at approximately $70 billion.
