Epstein Signs Lucrative Deal with Rothschild Group Via Southern Trust
(MENAFN) Records reveal that on Oct. 5, 2015, Jeffrey Epstein, through his company Southern Trust Company Inc., entered a $25 million agreement with the Rothschild Group to provide services related to risk analysis and algorithms.
The document identifies Epstein as president of Southern Trust Company, a Virgin Islands-registered firm, and outlines a “Letter of Agreement” with Edmond de Rothschild Holding S.A., represented by Ariane de Rothschild.
Southern Trust Company was tasked with collaborating on “risk analysis” and the “application and use of certain algorithms,” collectively described as “Specified Matters.”
In exchange for this work, the Rothschild Group agreed to pay Southern Trust Company $25 million. The payment was contingent on outstanding matters between Edmond de Rothschild Holding S.A. and the United States, to be made within three days of the Rothschild Group’s settlement with US authorities.
The agreement also covers reimbursement for all travel and out-of-pocket expenses incurred by Epstein, Southern Trust Company, or its employees, representatives, agents, or advisers in relation to the work. Confidentiality provisions were included, requiring that any sensitive information identified by the Rothschild Group be protected under the terms of the agreement.
The deal was signed several years after Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida in 2008 to state charges connected to sex crimes, drawing renewed attention to his business dealings and financial connections following the release of new records. Epstein died in a New York City jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. He pleaded guilty in Florida and was convicted of procuring a minor for prostitution in 2008, though critics have labeled the conviction a “sweetheart deal.”
Victims have alleged that Epstein operated an extensive sex trafficking network involving members of the wealthy and political elite.
