Iran Tells UN It Stands Ready for Dialogue With US

(MENAFN) Iran’s mission to the UN on Wednesday reiterated the country’s readiness for dialogue with the United States while cautioning that military pressure would provoke a strong response.

“Last time the U.S. blundered into wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, it squandered over $7 trillion and lost more than 7,000 American lives,” the mission stated on social media.

It added: “Iran stands ready for dialogue based on mutual respect and interests—but if pushed, it will defend itself and respond like never before.”

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump reiterated on Wednesday that a “massive Armada” is en route to Iranian waters, expressing hope that Tehran will “come to the table” for negotiations with Washington.
