IDF Launches Airstrikes, Artillery Fire Throughout Gaza Strip

(MENAFN) Israeli forces carried out airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolition operations across several parts of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, marking continued daily violations of the ceasefire that has been in effect since October 10, 2025.

In the northern town of Jabalia, local sources and eyewitnesses reported hearing at least two powerful explosions after Israeli troops conducted demolition operations in areas still under their control. In Gaza City’s eastern neighborhoods, artillery fire targeted residential areas, while military vehicles stationed nearby opened machine-gun fire toward surrounding zones.

Central Gaza also experienced Israeli airstrikes, with fighter jets hitting three empty homes in areas still under military control east of Deir al-Balah. In the south, near Khan Younis, eyewitnesses observed a combination of airstrikes, artillery shelling, machine-gun fire from vehicles, and helicopter attacks on locations under Israeli occupation. No casualties were immediately reported in these incidents.

Since the ceasefire’s implementation, repeated Israeli actions have reportedly killed 486 Palestinians and injured 1,341 others. The ceasefire originally ended a two-year genocide that began on October 8, 2023, resulting in over 71,000 deaths, more than 171,000 injuries, and widespread destruction that damaged roughly 90% of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure. The United Nations estimates reconstruction costs at approximately $70 billion.
