Azerbaijan, Israel Strengthen Economic Ties

(MENAFN) Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar in Baku on Monday to discuss arrangements for the upcoming Azerbaijani-Israeli business forum.

"During the conversation, satisfaction was expressed regarding the meeting between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Israel that took place a few days ago in Davos, during which issues related to the bilateral agenda were discussed," Aliyev's press service stated.

The statement highlighted that cooperation between the two nations is progressing well across multiple sectors, including trade, economy, energy, tourism, and additional areas.

"Gideon Sa'ar reported that during his visit, he was accompanied by representatives of big business and the business community, and emphasized that the upcoming Azerbaijani-Israeli business forum would contribute to the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries," the report added.

Both leaders commended the work of the intergovernmental commission in enhancing bilateral relations.

"He (Saar) thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the care of the Jewish community in Azerbaijan at the state level," the statement noted.

Later in the day, Saar is scheduled to hold further discussions in Baku, including a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov, before continuing his visit to Kazakhstan.
