Israeli Gunfire Targets, Kills Palestinian Man in Gaza

(MENAFN) A Palestinian man was shot dead Monday in the al-Tuffah district east of Gaza City, where Israeli forces had previously pulled back under a ceasefire arrangement, medical officials reported.

The killing underscores ongoing Israeli breaches of the truce that has been in place since Oct. 10.

A source told media that Israeli fire struck Mohammed Khaled Abed in the al-Zarqa sector of al-Tuffah, inflicting a fatal head wound. Witnesses confirmed the area had earlier been vacated by Israeli troops in line with the ceasefire terms.

In a separate incident, sources said Israeli gunfire injured a young girl, Badria Issam Saqr, in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Palestinian officials accuse Israel of systematically violating the ceasefire deal, which ended Tel Aviv’s two-year military campaign. That war left more than 71,000 people dead—most of them women and children—and wounded nearly 171,400 others since October 2023.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 484 Palestinians have been killed and 1,321 injured since the fragile truce began.
