Ukraine Holds Meeting with EU Powers at Davos Forum
(MENAFN) Ukrainian representatives convened with national security advisers from France, Germany, and the United Kingdom in Davos, Switzerland—the host city of the ongoing World Economic Forum—according to a Tuesday statement from National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.
In a post on the US social media platform Facebook, Umerov disclosed his participation in the discussions alongside Davyd Arakhamia, parliamentary leader of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Servant of the People party.
Umerov stated: "We synchronized our approaches to security guarantees and further diplomatic efforts," while noting that Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, is also among Kyiv's delegation members in Davos.
He continued: "Ahead are further meetings with partners on security guarantees, economic development, and the recovery of Ukraine."
The announcement follows a two-day consultation period between Ukraine's negotiating team and representatives of US President Donald Trump, including envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, conducted in Miami, Florida.
In a Sunday statement, Umerov indicated: "We agreed to continue the work at the team level during the next stage of consultations in Davos," describing the US discussions as involving substantive exchanges on "economic development and prosperity plan as well as security guarantees for Ukraine."
Previously, Zelenskyy announced he would postpone his Davos attendance due to Ukraine's energy crisis following Russian strikes.
