Syrian army moves into Jazira following ceasefire agreement


(MENAFN) The Syrian Army announces that it has begun deploying troops across the Jazira region in northeastern Syria as part of a ceasefire arrangement and an agreement to integrate the SDF into state institutions.

According to official statements cited by reports, military units have started spreading throughout the area in accordance with the deal reached between the Syrian government and the SDF.

The same reports indicate that government forces have already secured several key locations, including the Tishreen Dam south of Manbij, along with areas in the northern countryside of Raqqa and the western countryside of Hasakah.

The deployment is presented as a step toward stabilizing the region and enforcing the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
