Syrian Army starts sending forces in Jazira region
(MENAFN) The Syrian Army has begun deploying troops across the Jazira region in northeastern Syria to secure territory under the terms of a ceasefire and integration deal with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
According to a media organization, citing the army’s Operations Command, units have already secured key locations including Tishreen Dam, south of Manbij, as well as areas in the northern Raqqa countryside and western Hasakah countryside. The deployment is part of the broader agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF to restore state authority and integrate SDF forces into government.
