Trump asks Hungary to join "Board of Peace" as founding member

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump has invited Hungary to become a founding member of the newly established “Board of Peace,” Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced on Sunday. Orban described the invitation as recognition of Hungary’s efforts toward promoting peace.

The White House stated that the Board of Peace will play a central role in implementing key aspects of Trump’s 20-point plan to end the conflict in Gaza, oversee reconstruction, mobilize international resources, and ensure accountability during the territory’s transition from war to stability.

Alongside the Board of Peace, the US has established the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and related executive bodies to manage the phased implementation of the plan. Trump has reportedly extended invitations to other world leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to participate in the initiative.
