Erdogan Stresses Eradication of Terrorism in Syria
(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conveyed to his Syrian counterpart, Ahmad al-Sharaa, on Sunday that the complete elimination of terrorism from Syrian lands is essential not only for Syria but for the broader region.
“Türkiye’s support to Syria in many areas, particularly in counterterrorism, will continue to increase,” Erdogan assured al-Sharaa, according to Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, who issued a statement on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
The two leaders also reviewed bilateral ties and current developments in Syria. Erdogan underscored that Türkiye places strong value on Syria’s territorial wholeness, national unity, social cohesion, long-term stability, and overall security.
