Xi’s special envoy attends inauguration of Guinean president


(MENAFN) Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special envoy attended the inauguration of Guinean President Mamady Doumbouya on Saturday, holding brief discussions with him during the ceremony, according to reports.

Zheng Jianbang, vice chairman of China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee, conveyed Xi’s “warm greetings and best wishes” to Doumbouya.

He noted that China places great importance on its relationship with Guinea and expressed readiness to work with the country to “carry forward the traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and push for greater progress in the China-Guinea comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.”

Doumbouya asked Zheng to extend his “sincere greetings to Xi” and expressed gratitude for the envoy’s attendance at the inauguration.

The Guinean leader emphasized that his country values its longstanding friendship with China and is eager to expand cooperation across various fields, aiming to elevate bilateral relations to a new level.
