Erdogan says full elimination of terrorism crucial for Syria, region
(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa in a phone conversation on Sunday that fully removing terrorism from Syrian territory is essential for the country and the wider region, according to official statements.
“Türkiye’s support to Syria in many areas, particularly in counterterrorism, will continue to increase,” Erdogan said, as reported by Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran on social media.
The leaders also discussed bilateral relations and recent developments in Syria, with Erdogan underlining that Türkiye prioritizes Syria’s territorial integrity, national unity, cohesion, stability, and security.
