Iraq refutes reports of halting flights at Baghdad Airport

(MENAFN) Iraq’s Transport Ministry has denied reports that Baghdad International Airport has suspended flights amid fears of a potential US strike on Iran. A ministry spokesperson said the claims were unfounded, confirming that air traffic is continuing normally to all destinations, including transit flights through Iraqi airspace, and that there has been no decision to halt flights at any airports in the country.

The only recent cancellation was a single flight to Sulaymaniyah, which officials said was due to poor weather, not security concerns. The denial comes amid rising regional tensions linked to ongoing anti-government protests in Iran. Despite speculation, Iraqi authorities have reassured the public and airlines that civilian air travel remains uninterrupted.
