Trump says his power limited only by his “morality”
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump said his actions are restrained by personal ethics rather than constitutional checks or judicial oversight, arguing that his own sense of morality defines the boundaries of his authority.
Speaking during a televised interview, Trump was asked to clarify earlier remarks in which he suggested that neither international law nor formal legal mechanisms restrict him, but that his own values do. He defended that view by emphasizing his personal standards. “I'm a moral person. I don't like seeing death. I don't like seeing our people hurt. I don't like seeing the other side hurt either.”
Referring to a past US military operation abroad, Trump said he was troubled by the loss of life on both sides and framed that concern as evidence of his self-imposed restraint. “It's limited by my morality, and I have a very high grade of morality, so therefore it's limited.”

We'll never get to the Constitution, because I want to see what's good for our country, and you know what the courts want to see that too.”
