UK Weighs Troop Deployment to Greenland
(MENAFN) British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is reportedly considering sending troops to Greenland in response to US President Donald Trump’s repeated warnings about the strategic Arctic territory.
According to a media outlet, Starmer is weighing the move as Trump insists on asserting control over Greenland due to the growing presence of Russia and China.
Downing Street sources cited by the paper said Starmer shares Trump’s view that Russia’s "growing aggression" in the High North must be countered, with Euro-Atlantic security reinforced. They added that the prime minister regards threats from Russia and China in the region "extremely seriously."
