China Comments on U.S. Actions in Venezuela
(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized that Venezuela is a sovereign nation with full and enduring authority over its natural resources and all economic activities within its borders.
Mao underscored that the legitimate interests of other countries in Venezuela, including those of China, must be safeguarded.
She declared that China firmly denounces the United States’ military operation against Venezuela, as well as Washington’s insistence on "America First" in relation to Venezuela’s management of its oil resources.
According to Mao, the U.S. action represents a blatant act of intimidation, gravely contravenes international law, infringes upon Venezuela’s sovereignty, and undermines the rights of its people. These remarks were delivered during a routine press briefing.
