Tomorrowland expands to Asia with inaugural festival in Thailand

(MENAFN) Tomorrowland, the world-famous European electronic dance music (EDM) festival, will host its first full-scale edition in Asia this December in Thailand.

The festival chose Thailand for its "growing influence on the global stage of music, innovation, and experience-driven tourism."

Founded 20 years ago by Belgian brothers Manu and Michiel Beers, Tomorrowland has become one of the world’s most iconic EDM celebrations, with its Belgian edition featuring elaborate stages and large-scale parties attracting fans worldwide.

Organisers expect over 50,000 attendees each day in the Thai beach town of Pattaya from 11 to 13 December.

Pre-registration for tickets begins on 8 January. A "full madness pass" for all three days will cost 12,500 baht ($400; £300), while a single-day pass is priced at 5,100 baht. More information about the festival’s theme and line-up will be announced soon.

Although Tomorrowland has previously held smaller events in some Asian cities, this marks the first time the festival will stage a full-scale, multi-day event on the continent similar to its Belgian editions.

Thailand has signed a five-year agreement to host the festival and expects the event to generate 21 billion baht ($673m; £497m) over that period.
