Israel Stages Triple Incursions into Syrian Territory
(MENAFN) Israeli military units conducted three separate unauthorized operations into Syria's Quneitra province on Tuesday, marking another breach of the nation's territorial integrity, according to local news sources.
Media reported that a convoy of three vehicles penetrated Syrian borders through Bir Ajam's entry point, advancing toward Bariqa and Kudna villages in Quneitra's southern region.
In a second operation, media detailed how a dozen Israeli military vehicles pushed into Saida al-Hanout village via the Tal Abu Ghaithar border crossing, subsequently traveling through routes connecting Ruzaniyah village to Sayda al-Golan.
Israeli troops established a checkpoint at Sayda al-Golan's western intersection, media confirmed. A separate unit temporarily occupied the village, conducting a residential search operation before retreating.
The military operations occurred even as officials confirmed that Damascus and Tel Aviv had initiated fresh diplomatic talks facilitated by American intermediaries, aimed at restoring the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Neither Israeli defense forces nor Syrian government officials issued immediate statements addressing the latest raids.
Israeli troops have executed nearly continuous cross-border operations into Syrian areas, especially throughout Quneitra's rural districts, apprehending residents, establishing security barriers, interrogating locals and devastating agricultural properties.
Following the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel intensified its control over the Syrian Golan Heights, capturing the demilitarized buffer zone—an action that contravened the 1974 bilateral accord with Syria.
