Chevron restarts Venezuelan oil exports after short pause

(MENAFN) Chevron, the US oil company, resumed exports of Venezuelan crude on Monday after a four-day interruption caused by the US military operation in Caracas, according to shipping data.

Despite the ongoing US oil embargo, which President Donald Trump reaffirmed Saturday following the capture of President Nicolas Maduro, Chevron remains the only company authorized to export Venezuelan oil under Washington’s rules.

Ship tracking data showed that Chevron tankers had paused departures to the US during the intervention. Meanwhile, maritime monitoring platform TankerTrackingreported that around a dozen tankers carrying Venezuelan oil left the country’s waters with their transponders turned off in the aftermath of the raid.
