U.S. Vance's Ohio Home Targeted in Attack

(MENAFN) U.S. Vice President JD Vance confirmed Monday that his residence in Ohio was targeted in an attack, though he was absent during the incident.

"As far as I can tell, a crazy person tried to break in by hammering the windows. I'm grateful to the secret service and the Cincinnati police for responding quickly," Vance posted on X. "We weren't even home as we had returned already to DC."

Secret Service personnel apprehended a suspect shortly after midnight, with law enforcement authorities naming the individual as 26-year-old William DeFoor, local media outlets reported.

The assault marks the most recent episode in an escalating pattern of violent acts targeting American political figures over recent months.

In September of last year, 31-year-old political activist Charlie Kirk was killed during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.

Two Minnesota state legislators were shot in June, resulting in one fatality and leaving the other with severe injuries. In April, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro's home was set ablaze.
