U.S. Strikes Knock Out Venezuela's Electrical Grid
(MENAFN) American military operations launched against Venezuela during Saturday's predawn hours inflicted substantial destruction to the country's electrical infrastructure, Venezuela's Ministry of Electrical Energy announced Sunday.
Energy Minister Jorge Marquez released video footage via social media platforms documenting the devastation to power transmission installations located in regions encircling the capital city of Caracas.
"I want once again to condemn the terrorist attack on the national electrical system, this time on our country's power transmission system," Marquez stated.
The damaged facility serves as a critical component for delivering electricity to multiple strategic zones across southwestern and southeastern Caracas, Marquez explained, noting that inhabitants throughout those districts have been deprived of fundamental electrical services.
Personnel from the state-operated National Electric Corporation are working urgently to reinstate power supply to the impacted sections of the capital, Marquez confirmed.
