Russia alleges shooting down Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow

(MENAFN) Russian authorities announced on Sunday that they intercepted 24 Ukrainian drones en route to Moscow, according to Mayor Sergey Sobyanin on Telegram.

“Emergency services are working at the sites where debris fell,” Sobyanin said, adding that there were no immediate reports of injuries or fatalities.

Ukrainian officials have not yet responded to Russia’s claims.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that its air defense systems had shot down 123 Ukrainian drones during overnight strikes and into Sunday morning, including 11 over Moscow and its surrounding areas.
