Jordan reopens field hospital in Nablus to support West Bank healthcare

(MENAFN) Medical teams at the Jordanian Field Hospital in Nablus resumed operations on Sunday, welcoming patients and visitors while providing a wide range of medical and therapeutic services to local residents. The reopening reflects Jordan’s continued support for the healthcare sector in the West Bank.

The hospital’s commanding officer said the facility began operations at full capacity, with all available resources from day one, highlighting the humanitarian and medical mission led by Jordanian healthcare personnel. On its first day, the hospital treated 457 cases, including minor surgical procedures, chronic disease follow-ups, laboratory tests, and internal emergency cases.

These services were delivered through specialized clinics equipped to meet high medical standards.

The hospital houses multiple specialized clinics, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, dentistry, and general medicine. It also features major and minor operating theatres, two intensive care units, a laboratory, radiology and sterilization departments, and a pharmacy, all staffed by qualified doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Local residents expressed gratitude to Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, for its steadfast support of the Palestinian people, emphasizing the strong fraternal ties between the two nations. Jordan also operates two military field hospitals in Gaza: one in the north, established in 2009 after the 2008 war, and another in Khan Younis in the south, set up in November 2023 during the Israeli war of aggression that began on October 7, 2023.
