Türkiye’s Housing Market Shows Yearly Growth
(MENAFN) House transactions in Türkiye rose by 13.3% year-on-year between January and November, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), which released the figures on Tuesday.
Over the 11-month period, more than 1.43 million properties were sold, highlighting a steady demand in the real estate sector.
Sales of newly built homes increased by 8.9% year-on-year, reaching 444,096 units, whereas resale properties experienced a sharper rise of 15.4%, totaling 990,037 units during the same timeframe.
Properties purchased with mortgage financing surged dramatically, jumping 53.5% compared to the previous year, with 207,519 homes sold under such schemes in January-November.
However, November alone saw a slowdown, with house sales declining by 7.8% year-on-year, amounting to 141,100 units.
Istanbul remained the top-performing city in November, recording 24,234 sales, followed by the capital Ankara with 12,706 transactions, and the Aegean city of Izmir with 8,540 sales.
Foreign demand also decreased in November, as 1,943 homes were sold to non-Turkish buyers—a 9.7% decline from the same month last year. Russians, Ukrainians, and Germans represented the largest groups of international purchasers during the month.
