Fidan Urges Türkiye to Lead Global Peace, Stability
(MENAFN) Türkiye must take a leading role in fostering peace, stability, and prosperity using its own diplomatic capabilities at a time when the global system is increasingly dysfunctional, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Monday.
Addressing the opening of the 16th Ambassadors Conference in Ankara, Fidan noted that current international mechanisms have become ineffective and are no longer able to manage crises successfully.
He emphasized that the period of formulating policies based on ideas created by others and within frameworks defined by others has come to an end.
“In an environment where the international system is blocked and solution mechanisms are paralyzed, we have to build peace, stability, and prosperity ourselves through our diplomatic tools,” Fidan remarked.
Highlighting the growing unpredictability of the world, Fidan asserted that the role of diplomats is more crucial than ever. They must sift through accurate information and misinformation and grasp not only what is communicated but also the true intentions behind messages in international capitals.
He underlined Türkiye’s active and multidimensional approach to foreign policy, pointing out that Ankara is enhancing its position as a regional and global actor that shapes order rather than merely responding to crises.
