Israeli Forces Conduct Raids in Syria

(MENAFN) Israeli troops on Saturday conducted an operation in a rural settlement in Quneitra, located in the southwestern part of Syria, carrying out home searches and establishing checkpoints, according to reports from Syrian state media.

A state-run channel reported that Israeli forces entered the village of Sidat al-Hanout with six military vehicles. During the operation, they searched four residences and installed four checkpoints throughout the vicinity.

There was no immediate update regarding any arrests or injuries resulting from the raid.
In a related development, the Quneitra Governorate announced that a UN fact-finding delegation arrived in the province on Saturday to fulfill its mandate of documenting Israeli violations.

“UN fact-finding committee has arrived in Quneitra as part of its mission to document violations committed by the Israeli occupation army against civilians and their property,” the governorate stated on its official Telegram channel.

Earlier, on Friday, Israeli forces briefly detained two young men at a checkpoint in Quneitra, following an incursion into multiple villages in the region.

Syrian media indicated that the individuals were stopped at a checkpoint located between the town of Umm Batna and the village of Al-Ajraf in rural Quneitra, but were subsequently released.

Local sources note that ongoing Israeli raids continue to impede efforts to restore stability and hinder government initiatives aimed at attracting investments to improve economic conditions.
