Trump Administration Orders TSA to Share Passenger Data with ICE
(MENAFN) The Trump administration has ordered U.S. airport security personnel to consistently provide passenger information to immigration authorities. Officials describe this initiative as a method for identifying individuals who may be subject to deportation, according to reporting by media outlets.
Beginning in March, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been forwarding lists of travelers multiple times per week to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Both agencies operate under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
ICE then compares these names with its internal databases to identify people it considers deportable, a media outlet reported.
A DHS representative told a news agency that the practice has been in place for some time, describing it as “nothing new.”
The spokesperson also noted that in February, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem “reversed the horrendous Biden-era policy” that permitted undocumented migrants “to jet around our country.”
The representative emphasized: “Under President (Donald) Trump, TSA and DHS will no longer tolerate this. This administration is working diligently to ensure that aliens in our country illegally can no longer fly unless it is out of our country to self-deport.”
