Adele Webb

Adele Webb is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Deliberative Democracy at the University of Canberra, Australia. Her research explores democracy in both theory and practice, with a particular focus on complex political attitudes, such as democratic ambivalence, the influence of historical narratives and subjectivities on political behavior, and the potential for democratic innovation. She has expertise in Philippine politics and the legacy of U.S. colonialism in the Philippines. In 2022, she published her first book "Chasing Freedom: The Philippines' Long Journey to Democratic Ambivalence" (Liverpool University Press).
