UAE: Pedestrian Accidents Drop By 15% During First Half Of 2025 In RAK

Ras Al Khaimah Police announced a 15 per cent drop in pedestrian accidents during the first half of 2025 compared to 2024.

The decline highlights the success of initiatives aimed at enhancing road safety and protecting lives and property. Authorities attributed the achievement to the use of smart vehicle tracking systems to monitor high-risk violations, which has notably reduced injuries and fatalities.

Brigadier General Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the accomplishment reflects the police's efforts to implement proactive measures, strengthen intelligent traffic monitoring, and conduct awareness campaigns alongside effective law enforcement.

These efforts have contributed to creating a safer traffic environment and improving the overall quality of life in the emirate.

He emphasised the importance of raising traffic awareness among road users, urging drivers and pedestrians to adhere to traffic rules, cross safely at designated pedestrian zones, and use pedestrian bridges and crosswalks.

Police stressed that following these guidelines is key to preventing serious pedestrian accidents and safeguarding lives and property.
