Gunfire Incident Prompts Evacuation at Oslo Shopping Center
(MENAFN) A shooting occurred at a mall in Oslo, the capital of Norway, on Monday when a man entered the premises carrying a handgun and was subsequently detained, according to a news agency.
“It turns out that one shot was fired. We have the perpetrator in custody,” stated Tor Grottum of Oslo police, while emergency responders continued their presence at Stor Storsenter, the city’s largest retail complex.
Although the entire facility has been cleared of visitors, authorities have not reported any injuries at this stage.
“We do not suspect that there are multiple perpetrators, but we are searching broadly. For now, we are talking about one suspect,” Grottum added.
